News & Information

March 15, 2025

Greetings! Having just finished up an NSLA board meeting, I wanted to write a quick note share with you all the great things that NSLA is doing these days!

  • Three members of the board were able to attend the Educator’s Rising Conference in Kearney to talk with high school students considering teaching professions.
  • We were joined by the few but mighty for our inaugural Meet and Mingle where we enjoyed networking and exchanging quality resources.
  • Just a couple of days ago, we met online with about thirty people listening to Tim Rasinski speak about fluency and how to improve fluency for students of all ages.
  • Coming up on March 17 we have the opportunity to meet again as we join together for another Meet and Mingle where we will dig in to the Rasinski webinar and discuss it with those who were there as well as those who wish they could have been there. (We will recap!)
  • On April 8 we have a very special guest coming to do another webinar. If you enjoy MTSS or want to learn more about it, you will NOT want to miss this opportunity.

  • This webinar will be followed by another Meet and Mingle networking opportunity on April 15 where we will discuss the MTSS webinar and its application in your school.
  • The pinnacle of the 2024-2025 season will be the summer institute. We have three keynote speakers coming to speak about topics from educational leaders with a wide range of experiences including Lori Sappington educator and podcaster on the show Melissa and Lori Love LiteracyBrent Conway an administrator and author of The Balanced Literacy Hangover, and Lindsay Kemeny, first-grade teacher and author of Seven Mighty Moves and Rock Your Literacy Block. Nebraska Department of Education will also be in attendance to speak to current happenings across the state.

There has never been a better time to join us in our mission to support literacy outcomes for all Nebraska students. Members get to attend all our Spring 2025 webinars for free and also get discounted pricing for the Summer Institute.

Looking forward to seeing you at one of our events soon!
