Dear NSLA Members and Friends,

Excitement is building for our upcoming NSLA Summer Summit on July 17 in Kearney! Our board is eagerly looking forward to reconnecting with you for a powerful day of professional learning, collaboration, and inspiration.

This year’s summit promises to be one of our best yet—with three nationally recognized speakers and engaging sessions designed to leave you energized and equipped for the year ahead. With a full house expected, we encourage you to arrive early to secure a great seat!

We’re also pleased to provide lunch at no cost to all in-person attendees. In addition, a couple of local food trucks will be on-site offering coffee and ice cream for purchase—perfect for a mid-morning treat or afternoon pick-me-up!

Although all in-person seats have been filled, it’s not too late to join the waitlist! Waitlisted individuals will be offered the opportunity to attend virtually if seats do not become available. 

Can’t join us in person? No problem! We’re excited to offer a live-streamed Zoom option for those who register by July 16.

Resources for Learning

While it is important to regenerate, relax, and enjoy your summer, it is also a wonderful opportunity to take some time to learn something new.  Check out a few of the resources below and challenge yourself to read at least one article or listen to one podcast/webinar that will enhance your practice.  

Check out the new National Center on Improving Literacy website, below.  There you will find a plethora of information.  Check out resources on activities, books, games, videos, research summaries, information on each of the components of the science of reading, information on dyslexia and instruction and intervention.  

For SOR training, you will want to check out Cox Campus (see below).  It's completely FREE and accredited by the International Dyslexia Association and IACET (International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training)!  Check out their Structured Literacy Certificate Program, training for instructional coaches, courses on early care and learning, social-emotional health, and more.  Did I say FREE?  

Check out the Measured Mom's Podcast Index below.  Here you will find a listing of fantastic podcasts for any literacy topic that you may be interested in.  Take a look and pick one (or more) to listen to this summer.  You can also find this list at our website under Podcasts/Webinars.  

The NSLA Newsletter will be taking a summer break in July.  Instead of our newsletter, we will be learning and collaborating with some of you at our Summer Institute in Kearney on July 17th.
