A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

Greetings from a very cold Nebraska! Within the last few weeks, I have been to every corner of the state traveling for work, and one thing all of Nebraska has in common is the temperature! Brrr! As I travel, I have enjoyed working with teachers in the west, central, and eastern parts of the state. Another commonality that I notice across the state is that teachers want to learn about how to best meet the needs of their students.

The board at NSLA has heard your demand for high-quality professional learning and networking opportunities. We are prepared to meet that need. Keep an eye on your inbox as we finalize details for professional learning opportunities and opportunities to network with other members. Most opportunities will be online, but some will be in person as well.

If you qualified for the November book promotion and haven’t received your book yet, please reach out to admin@neliteracy.org to check-in. There are still several members who qualified but haven’t filled out the form to tell us where to send your book. Thank you to those who participated! We are very excited to have this high-quality book in the hands of our members!

If you are receiving this newsletter, but haven’t joined yet, there’s no time like the present to qualify yourself for members-only resources and discounts on future events.

Stay warm and safe!

Sara

Research on the Effectiveness of UFLI

Many districts seem to be turning to UFLI as a cost-effective phonics supplement to enhance reading programs that just don't seem to render needed results, but does it really work?  The creators of UFLI did their own research and you can find the results by clicking on the link below.
